New Bear can on indiegogo
I've no affiliation or knowledge on this, aside from liking the idea of 25oz/710ci specs, tempted to throw $40 at them and see what happens. That's $30 cheaper and 16oz lighter than a BV500.

I like it. But I wonder how it actually performs - don't many parks have a list of approved bear cans that have passed a variety of tests, etc?
(I guess me don't read too good... fine print, they need the funds to test it... next time I should read a wee bit more...)

Re: New Bear can on indiegogo
Why the non-cylinder shape? Looks like that shape would be more awkward to pack. When room is availabel in the can, I like to put my pot inside- not sure you could do that. In fact, that is one reason I do not like the Garcia (weight reason too). The price is definitely right. I suspect they are selling at the cost to make, to get them out there. If it is approved, I would think the price will go up. I was under the impression that approval takes more than 4-5 months. Nevertheless, I am glad someone is trying out new ideas.

nice. A great PR site with no mention of their steps toward approval or where they are in process that I could see. Jar of honey cracked me up..

Not a lot more info, but I'm guessing updates will eventually be more current on their Twitter account: https://twitter.com/HunnyCanisters

Re: New Bear can on indiegogo
I think the shape is actually somewhat beneficial, strength wise - that curved shape should act like an arch under compression, theoretically. Not that it is the primary method of action, but a convex shape like that should be stronger than the same material as a flat.
They have stated they are not planning on making a profit on this (which I think is dumb, but whatever). Also, if they get a viable product, they could easily bring the price up to where BearVault is for retail (and allow for retailer margin). If it is the same volume as BV500, even for the same money, I'll take it!
They do at least seem to be working on the Sierra Bear Approval process.

I'm curious about the cooking lids they have in the 25 oz version. Might make more sense to purchase the 13.5oz version and just bring along a lightweight pan if you need that to cook. Regardless I'll take 13.5oz over 41 oz any day. I'd definitely purchase one of these.

Oh wow... OK, I just decided to give it a whirl. If they can pull it off, great, if they stole $28 from me... well, Oh well I guess. $28 (including shipping) for a sub 1-lb bearcan with 710ci capacity? I'm in.
I'm very skeptical at every step here: Can they raise enough to get off the ground? Can they get approval? Does their design actually work? I don't know. But I decided it was worth $28 to find out.

That is the biggie, the weight savings alone should be extremely popular in the outdoor communities. Can they get approval?
