Donated my body to science. They can do whatever they want with it. Pick me up and haul me away. No pomp and circumstance.

I always told my wife I wanted to be cremated and spread over Ionian Basin.
If you don't know where you're going, then any path will get you there.

I don’t need a goal destination. I need a destination that meets my goals.

Re: Remains found in Williamson Bowl
Lots of possibilities here. If the body were down at the lakes in Williamson Bowl, it could also be due to a climb gone wrong on Tyndall. Seems like they should be able to date the remains. I have heard rumors that some of the Manzenar residents would go up to Williamson Bowl (not sure that is just a legend or true). Could be an old backpacker or climber who decided to do their own "death with dignity" and with their final resting place in Williamson Bowl. Although it is a mystery, I am not sure how much public resources, time and money, should be spent on solving it.

It'd be ashame if the person just wanted to be there, and they removed him/her from the resting place he loved.

Re: Remains found in Williamson Bowl
I wonder if it might be someone from the Manzanar Internment Camp. We know some were sneaking out and hiking to the bowl there to fish for the cutthroats (that they thought were goldens). There was one known death:
https://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-ma ... story.htmlOnly one internee is known to have died while on a fishing expedition. An elderly artist-angler named Giichi Matsumura accompanied others into the majestic wilderness beyond Mt. Williamson, but lagged behind to paint. An unexpected snowstorm blanketed the region. The fishermen hunkered for hours in a cave and could not find Matsumura after the storm passed. His remains were discovered weeks later by hikers.

A great article on this was in the Daily Breeze today. It looked like he was done and left with a great view.

Since this a "missing person alert" board, a West Point Cadet was missing since Friday, I found about on the internet. Yesterday afternoon, they released his name. Kade Kurita who was one of my Boy Scout in my Troop and I was his Scoutmaster. So SAD.

NY Times article confirms it
"Officials from the Inyo County Sheriff’s Office identified the remains by comparing his DNA with a sample from one of his grandchildren"
