2024 HST Meetup

A forum to initiate member meet-up. Looking for a hiking/climbing/fishing/skiing/etc. partner, or are you planning a trip where you wouldn't mind having some company? Last minute invites can be just as fun as a well-planned group trip (sometimes even better) so don't be shy! And be sure to post a trip report to the appropriate forum when you get back.

I'll try to swing it - maybe even cajole my wife to come along. I'll be traversing the area a couple of weeks earlier but, of course, wouldn't mind going there twice.

Alright, two more HST members who haven’t attended our previous meetups. \:D/

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

I'm going to be in the Winds or the Teton Wilderness at that point or I'd definitely be up for this. Someone take/post some photos.

I will try and make it. Bo and I were there a few years ago for the first time, by way of Italy Pass. Delightful area. Perhaps I can get a few photography pointers!

Maybe the next one the wsp_scott.

Great! Looking forward to meeting you maiathebee, richlong8, and Bo. I might even be able to give some photography pointers if I can pet Bo. :unibrow:

Are we not worried about the permit limitations here? I think Italy Pass only allows for like 8 a day.

Also, why not have Saturday be the full day? Makes way more sense.

I have nothing on my calendar for this season yet.
How is it easiest? Not shortest, easiest, from the East or west? Grampy, you were looking for someone to hike in with you. Want to exchange contact info.

Hi Schmalz,

Are we not worried about the permit limitations here? I think Italy Pass only allows for about eight a day.
There are several ways of accessing the meetup, especially for those who use the meetup day as part of a longer trip. Permit issues will be no more complicated than on any other meetup. Not everyone will be starting in on the same day or the same trailhead; our members are creative enough. :)

Also, why not have Saturday be the whole day? Makes way more sense.
Many folks will have to be back at work on Monday or may need that extra day to get back to the trailhead; some are not fast or as fast as they used to be and can use that additional day to get to the trailhead and drive the long way home.
