July 11 on the north slope of Donohue Pass - snow began at the tarn with the (fully submerged) rock hop crossing, and ended close to the bottom of the southern descent before it pulls back up to Island Pass. Click for larger view.

More panoramic views from Donohue Pass - this is the very top, seen from the rise south of the pass. July 11. Higher rez over on Flickr

North of the pass, just above the tarn where you cross on boulders on its outlet. Snow began right about here and lasted almost uninterrupted down to the valley below Island Pass.

Finally some dry trail above the Lyell Fork

More snow in black and white - this just before getting to the top of Island Pass on the JMT north ramp. JMT was nowhere to be seen until we got to the south facing slopes above 1000 Island
