Wow... absolutely stunning. I know that specifying location seems to be a no-no these days to prevent over-use, but whatever info you can provide would be appreciated. Being a budding photographer, I always appreciate a little info about your camera settings, and any tips you may pass along. Bottom line is that this is just a beautiful image.

Thanks Rashoop. This was in the meadows above Ediza. I shot it at 18mm, ISO 5000 and 20 seconds at f/2.8.

Re: Ansel Adams Wilderness
Thank you for the data. Always trying to learn. My guess would have been very close, but the ISO is what I’m still struggling with. Always trying to keep it as low as possible (burned by an Auto-ISO setting of 6400 with a stormy shot from Tunnel View... WAY too grainy). But 5000 works great here - probably even adds to it. 18mm and f/2.8... nice lens!

Re: Ansel Adams Wilderness
Yeah, I love that lens. I don't normally take my 14-24 backpacking as it is so heavy but I knew that the Milky Way was going to line up perfectly for this shot so decided to haul in "the beast". Shooting really wide I will start at around 20 seconds but even 30 seconds at 18 mm might have worked without getting star trails. Then I will start at around ISO 1600 and keep bumping it up until the histogram looks good.

Beautiful!
